Privacy policy
This policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit this website and use our online forms – in accordance with the Swiss Data Protection Act (revFADP) and, where applicable, the EU GDPR.

2. Principles
We process personal data only as far as necessary for a functional website, for our content and services and for reviewing applications for rental properties – in good faith, proportionately and for the stated purpose.
3. Visiting the website / server log files
When you visit, the hosting provider automatically records data in server log files (IP address, date and time, page accessed, browser and operating system, referrer). This data serves secure and stable operation and is deleted after a short period. Hosting provider: Vercel Inc., California (USA); data may thereby be transferred to the USA. Our server-side functions (contact form, application form, AI chat) run on Vercel in Frankfurt (Germany).
4. Contact form
When you write to us via the contact form, we process the data provided (name, email address, company, message) solely to handle your enquiry. Transmission to our server is encrypted (HTTPS); from there, your message is forwarded to us by our email provider. If our server cannot deliver your message, your own email program opens instead with the prepared message; it then reaches us only when you send the email yourself. We retain the data for as long as necessary for processing or as required by law. To protect against misuse, the IP address of the submitting connection is held temporarily in the server's memory (RAM) in order to limit the number of submissions; it is not stored permanently and not linked to your message.
5. Online application for rental properties
On the "Properties" page you can apply for an advertised rental property via an online form. The party responsible for processing the application data is the landlord, Joel Boschung.
Data collected. To review your application, we collect the information you provide in the form: about the rental property (desired start of tenancy, parking space request), about you (surname, first name, date of birth, marital status, place of origin, nationality, residence permit, address, telephone numbers, email address), about your professional situation (occupation, employer and its address, monthly net income), about your current housing situation (size of dwelling, rent, duration of tenancy, name and contact details of your current landlord, reason for moving), about your household (number of adults, children, pets, musical instruments, ownership of the furniture, registered partnership, use as family home), about any ongoing debt enforcement proceedings or wage garnishments, about your household contents and liability insurance, as well as references and remarks. If a second person applies with you, we collect the same information about that person. You also upload documents – a copy of your identity card or residence permit, a debt enforcement register extract, a salary statement and, optionally, further documents (PDF, JPG or PNG; maximum 2 MB per file, 3 MB in total) – and sign the form electronically in the signature field; the signature is transmitted as an image file (PNG). By submitting, you confirm the place and date and the declarations listed in the form.
By providing details about your current landlord, employer, reference persons or a second person, you also send us data of third parties. Please inform these persons accordingly.
Purpose and basis. We process this data solely to review your application and to allocate the rental property and – if a lease is concluded – to prepare and carry out the tenancy. The basis is the consent you give in the form. You can withdraw this consent at any time with effect for the future; please contact joel [at] lyb.ch for this purpose. An application does not create any entitlement to be allocated a rental property. The review is carried out personally; no automated evaluation or decision by the system takes place.
Transmission and storage. Your details and documents are transmitted to our server in encrypted form (HTTPS), checked there for completeness and permitted file types, and immediately forwarded as an email with attachments to the landlord's application mailbox at Apple, to which only the landlord has access. Application data is not stored on the web server; no database is kept. For sending the email we use the Resend service. You receive an automatic confirmation of receipt at the email address you provided. To protect against misuse, the IP address of the submitting connection is held temporarily in the server's memory (RAM) in order to limit the number of submissions; it is not stored permanently and not linked to your application.
Disclosure. We do not disclose your application data to third parties, except for the service providers named in section 9. We make enquiries with your current property management only if you have expressly permitted this in the form.
Retention and deletion. If no lease is concluded, we delete your application and all attachments from our mailbox as soon as the rental property has been allocated. If a lease is concluded, we retain the file for the duration of the tenancy and thereafter until the statutory retention periods have expired.
Your rights as a data subject are described in section 10.
6. AI chat assistant
This website offers an AI-powered chat assistant. The messages you enter are transmitted, in order to generate a response, via the AI Gateway of Vercel Inc. (USA) to an AI model provided by our model provider Anthropic PBC (USA) and processed there; this may involve a transfer to the USA. Please do not enter sensitive personal data in the chat. Answers are generated automatically by an AI, may be inaccurate and are not legally binding; no automated individual decision producing legal effects concerning you is made. To protect against misuse, the IP address of the requesting connection is held temporarily in the server's memory (RAM) in order to limit the number of requests; it is not stored permanently.
7. Contact via WhatsApp
In the contact area of our home page and in the AI chat we offer a link to message us via WhatsApp. Data is only transmitted to WhatsApp when you click the link and open WhatsApp on your device. With the link in the AI chat, your most recently entered chat message (at most 300 characters) is passed to WhatsApp as suggested text. WhatsApp's processing of data is governed by its privacy policy: whatsapp.com/legal/privacy-policy. Using WhatsApp is voluntary; you can also reach us at any time by email at joel [at] lyb.ch or by phone on +41 79 326 20 14.
8. Cookies and local storage
This website uses no tracking or marketing cookies and no analytics services. Only technically necessary information (e.g. your language choice) is stored in your browser's local storage (localStorage). It remains on your device and can be deleted by you at any time.
9. Disclosure to third parties / processors
Your data is only shared with the service providers needed to operate the website and our forms: hosting and server-side functions (Vercel Inc., USA), email delivery of applications (Resend), application mailbox (Apple), email delivery of the contact form (our email provider) and AI chat (Vercel AI Gateway, Anthropic PBC, USA).
10. Your rights
Within the scope of applicable law, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing, as well as data portability and objection. Contact: joel [at] lyb.ch. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
11. Data security
The website is delivered over an encrypted TLS connection (HTTPS). We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data.
12. Changes
